Alexander Joseph "Lex" Luthor is the billionaire CEO of LexCorp, and Superman's archenemy. He is extremely intelligent, and likely one of the 8 smartest people on the planet, along with Tony Stark.
History[]
Origin[]
Lex Luthor was a corrupt businessman, and one of the most powerful figures in Metropolis. However, Superman's arrival would put a stop to this.
A few months after Superman came to Metropolis, Luthor's yacht was attacked by terrorists, and Superman stopped them. After admitting that he had arranged the attack to see Superman in action, Luthor was arrested for reckless endangerment. He avoided prison due to a legal technicality, but vowed to destroy Superman.
Since then, he has tried multiple times to kill Superman, and is somewhat obsessed with this goal.
USHU[]
Luthor was caught smuggling Kryptonite, Superman's weakness, and thrown into Stryker's Penitentiary, Metropolis' high security prison. However, this did not last long, as Doctor Doom breaks him out in exchange for his assistance in world domination.
Doom and Luthor traveled around the globe recruiting fellow criminals, eventually gathering 10 others in an abandoned warehouse in Gotham City. This meeting, however, was interrupted by the Asgardian God of Mischief, Loki, who insisted that having 13 members would bring bad luck to their enemies, and joined the group after a brief skirmish with Sinestro. Doom then declared them the Legion of Doom.
